Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli insists that Arsenal
star Alexis Sanchez is eager to play for his country
over the international break, meaning the
Gunners boss will face a tense wait to see what
condition his forward arrives back in.
Sampaoli's side are due to lock horns with Colombia
and Uruguay in their next two World Cup qualifiers
and are currently in the midst of a rich vein of form,
having not lost for ten games, while they won their
first two qualifiers against Brazil and Peru,
respectively.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has expressed his
concern about possible burnout for Sanchez,
something he will be desperate to avoid as the
season hurtles towards the busy festive period.
Sampaoli will treat Sanchez with caution, but says
from what he has seen the forward is desperate to be
involved for his country.
"Alexis will be treated with caution, but he is eager to
play and gave his all in training" , the Chile coach was
quoted as saying by beIN Sports.
"From what I saw Alexis looked very well, in an
incredible moment.
"I am excited to see if he can translate that energy
because if Alexis does what he knows how to do on
the pitch, we will have many possibilities to win" , he
added.
Sanchez is a key man for his country and has scored
31 goals in 89 appearances for Chile.
